Haitian Medical Clinic Start Up
Back in June, as we traveled up a Haitian mountain road with a missionary friend, Tony Jones, we passed by an abandoned medical clinic. This clinic was built by a German organization and was supposed to be financially supported with staff by the Haitian Government. Unfortunately, the Government never paid the staff, which had worked there unpaid for six months before they pulled out. It has been heavy on my heart to reopen this clinic since I first saw this building in June.
Now that the recent hurricane has gone through this area and wiped out most homes, crops, and livestock, it is even more important to get this clinic back in operation.
The need for this clinic has been extreme, but with the recent outbreak of cholera in the drinking water, it has become even more of a desperate situation. Many of these people who contract cholera are dying within five hours. There is a separate area in this medical clinic for treating patients who have cholera.
The purpose of this clinic would be to care for the medical needs of the local people and to spread the Gospel in this area where the population is 95% Voodoo.
We need to raise a minimum of $23,000 to open and staff this clinic for one year.
We are looking for donations to GlobalMissionAlliance.org, who will be responsible for the staffing of this clinic.
